Graff is involved in all stages from the sourcing of the rough to the cutting and polishing of the diamond, the initial vision and design of the piece through to the final exquisite Graff piece. For the precise operation of transforming the rough stone to an exquisitely cut and polished diamond, each stone has to be examined thoroughly before the skilled master cutter can release the diamond's full potential.
Years of training and exceptional levels of skill enable our master jewellers to create the extraordinarily fine settings that are such an integral part of Graff jewels.

DiamondsDiamonds are nature's most perfect creation. Their structure, hardness, brilliance and beauty are unsurpassed. Formed millions of years ago, diamonds are rare as only a few survived the hazardous journey from the depths of the earth to the earth's surface. Before a diamond becomes a jewel, it will probably touch at least four continents and the lives of hundreds of people. The expertise of many skilled and experienced craftsmen is necessary for the complicated process of extracting and finishing a diamond.
Over the years Graff have handled the world's most fabulous and treasured gemstones. These diamonds range from centuries old stones rich in myth, magic and intrigue to the newly born and breathtaking gems, discovered, polished and brought to life by Graff.
EMERALDSMay's birthstone is among the most revered and expensive of all gemstones. Emeralds exhibit the most beautiful, intense and radiant green. Sometimes top quality, fine emeralds are even more valuable than diamonds. Even for a skilled gem cutter, cutting emeralds presents a special challenge, firstly because of the high value of the raw crystals, and secondly because of the frequent inclusions. Indeed, they have developed a special cut just for this gem: the emerald cut. The clear design of this rectangular or square cut with its bevelled corners brings out the beauty of this valuable gemstone to the full, at the same time protecting it from mechanical strain.
RUBIESJuly's birthstone is aptly named the 'King of Gems'. The wonderful intensity of a ruby symbolises love, passion and power. For thousands of years the ruby has been considered one of the most valuable gemstones. Rubies have a wonderful colour, excellent hardness and an overwhelming brilliance.
SAPPHIRESSeptember's birthstone has been the pre-eminent blue gemstone for centuries. Blue is sapphire's main colour and the purer the blue, the greater the price the gemstone can command. Sapphires also come in many other colours including yellow, pink, orange and purple.
PEARLSCreated by a living creature, a pearl's ethereal beauty is there to behold from the very first moment. Pearls come in all shapes and forms, from the rarest white South Sea cultured pearls to the beautiful coloured hues of the Chinese freshwater variety. Graff selects only the finest, most beautiful pearls to be transformed into exquisite pieces of jewellery.
